Let’s do this!
As a youth pastor I can be relevant all I want but they aren't going to listen to a single word until I'm authentic. The problems in my youth ministry usual come when I'm trying to "act" like a youth pastor instead of being the "minister" God has called me to be. (just sayin)

So true!
I just looked this up: the difference of being in the world (authentic) but not of the world (relevant): http://tinyurl.com/ydms73f It's kinda' what He asked of us, no?
Retweet: you can find it here, http://twitter.com/Bill_Spinks
I got you via GReader, and look for the message. -KUTGW, dewd.

great post on ChurchCreate by the way
thx man!
Well being a youth pastor and husband working with teens and young people, they are sick and tired of everyone just trying to really be like them talk like them and so on, But they are in need of leaders to be truly Authentic with them. Let them know we aren't perfect sometimes we as ministers/pastors or whatever you call it, get put up on such a pedestal that seems so unreachable for many youth. We are not any different than any of them, they need to know that we deal with all the same issues of their parents, or even what they have gone through. Jesus was authentic with everyone. He dealt with temptations and conquered them. As we need to show others we are not perfect, but we are all in this together running the same race. Teens or even adults for that matter need to see some authentic leadership not a showboat of hyper-spiritualism, i might have the title of pastor but we are in the same boat. Lets be transparent and authentic in our leadership. Everyone has seen enough "fake" christians. Lets live it….
